Green Card 2020
The 2018 Green Card Program is called DV 2020 or Green Card 2020. It is called Green Card 2020 because successful applicants who have won a Green Card in 2018 will enter the United States of America in January 2020.
Below you will find out more about the Green Card 2020 application process.
When Can I Apply for Green Card 2020?
The Green Card 2020 program is administered by the Department of State and registration is now in progress until November 2018. Everyone worldwide is welcome to register as long their country of birth is eligible. This is a yearly program that gives families across the globe a chance to permanently live, study and work in the United States of America once they meet the eligible requirements.
MYUSGC can assist you with your Green Card 2020 entry. If you are interested, and need to submit a Green Card Program Application, please contact us immediately and we will assist you right throughout the process.
But first you must find out if you are eligible.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Green Card 2020 you must be a citizen of an eligible country. Eligible countries are countries that have a low immigration rate to the United States. For example, if you were born in Hong Kong SAR or Taiwan, then you are eligible to enter the Green Card 2020 Program.

However, you must have the required work experience or education, which are:

  • A high school education or its equivalent which is the equivalent to the completion of a twelve-year elementary or secondary education in the United States.
  • You must have the required job specific work experience which should be within the last five years and an employment period of not less than two years.
These documentations will not be needed when you are entering the Diversity Visa Program until you have won and will be applying for the Green Card Program Visa.
Non-Qualifying Countries
Here is the full list of countries that are NOT eligible for the D.V 2020 Program:
Non-Qualifying Countries for Green Card 2020
Bangladesh Canada Dominican Republic
Brazil China (Mainland) El Salvador
Colombia Ecuador Jamaica
Haiti India Mexico
Nigeria Pakistan Peru
Philippines
South Korea United Kingdom (NOT NORTHERN IRELAND) Vietnam
  • United Kingdom includes the following dependent areas: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena, and Turks and Caicos Islands.
  • Northern Ireland does qualify.
  • Persons born in the Gaza Strip are chargeable to Egypt for the D.V 2020 Green Card Program this year.
  • Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are also eligible to enter the DV2020 Program.
Although your country of birth is not eligible, there is still hope. You can enter the Green Card 2020 program by claiming either your spouse or either of your parents’ country of birth.
For example, if you were born in a country that is not eligible and your wife/husband was born in a country that was eligible then you can claim his/her birth place as your country of eligibility. But, you will have to include your spouse on the green card program application.
Likewise, if your mother or father was born in an eligible country you can claim that country as your country of eligibility so long as they were not a citizen of the country you were born at the time of your birth.
If you claim any of the above, it must be clearly indicated on your DV Green Card 2020 Program entry. Do not list an incorrect country of eligibility because you will be disqualified.
What Are My Chances of Winning the D.V Green Card 2020?
50,000 winners are chosen randomly out of the millions of applications that are submitted each year. Your chances of winning can be high if your country has a very low rate of immigration.
Also, married partners can double their chances of winning by submitting two entries. The husband can apply and includes his wife and children under 21 and the wife can apply and includes her husband and children under 21.
Your chances of winning can also be positive if your application is not disqualified. Each year millions of applications are disqualified due to failure to follow the full requirements. UCGCCAIL can assist you with your online application to minimize these errors and increase your chance of winning. However, MYUSGC has no control nor influence over the winning tickets.
Will I Receive Notification If I Win?
Winners will not receive any form of notification through the post, phone or email from the US Department of State. Likewise, if you were not selected the US Department of State will not notify you.
You are responsible to keep checking the status of your Green Card entry online to find out if you are a winner. You can check online for the D.V 2020 results between May 1, 2019 – April 30, 2020 to find out if you are selected. If you are selected, instructions on how to claim your Green Card as well as information on fees will be provided.
Note that no-one is authorized to send you any form of notification concerning your Green Card entry. Therefore if you should receive such notice, ignore it.
When Should I Submit My Green Card 2020 Visa Application?
Act quickly! Although you have a year in which to apply you want to make sure that you do not have a long waiting period to attend your interview and to receive an approval. Furthermore, the US Department of State will issue only 50,000 Program visas this year.
